The Kamungi Banda offers four spacious bedrooms, each equipped with a double and single bed, comfortably accommodating up to 12 guests, each bedroom is en suite, providing comfort and privacy for all visitors, Guests can relax in the shared dining area, which includes a bar, seating, dining space, and a fully equipped shared kitchen, The Kamungi Banda operates on a self-catering basis, with a team of dedicated staff including a chef to prepare meals during your stay. Although guests are expected to bring their own food, drinks, and cleaning products, the kitchen is well-equipped with a large fridge, chest freezers, 5-hob gas ovens, stove kettle, cooking utensils, and crockery. For convenience, a welcome pack is provided upon booking, which includes a list of meals the chef is experienced in preparing. Additionally, the cook is eager to learn new recipes from guests who wish to share their culinary skills.

Kamungi Banda Accommodation prices or Rates

The nightly rate is KES 7,500 per person for Kenyan citizens and KES 9,500 per person for non-residents (VAT inclusive). These rates apply to all guests aged 6 years and above, including children. Please note that the facility may, at times, host more than one group. Please confirm at the time of booking if other guests will be staying at the facility during your visit. Children aged 5 years and below stay free of charge.  Please Note: Located adjacent to the northern boundary of Tsavo East National Park, the Kamungi Banda is just a short 2km drive from the Tsavo Park entrance. Guests must purchase their park tickets online through the Ecitizen platform and present them at the Kenya Wildlife Service entry gate upon arrival and to the Kamungi Banda’s Manager each day they plan to enter the park to ensure compliance. Wi-Fi is available on-site for guests’ convenience.

A stay at Kamungi Banda comes with a trained chef responsible for all your meals during your stay, our menus are designed with you in the lead, incorporating your vision, keeping your planned activities top of mind and doing our best to accommodate any special requests, Our  Chef will work with you prior to your stay to discuss menu options, your grocery lists and make recommendations regarding what to bring and what you can source locally, Our Chef at Kamungi Banda is proficient in Italian, Kenyan, Swahili, Indian, Chinese and barbeques cuisines. We have a menu of options available to help guide your preferences available once you book a stay, we strive to make self-catering as easy as possible. We can provide suggestions to help you sample the very freshest fruits, vegetables and best quality meats, cheeses and specialty items produced in Voi area. Meals can be served on our sweeping verandahs for spectacular views of Tsavo national park, our gardens are wonderfully landscaped and there is area for outside breakfasts, lunches and dinners under the stars. Patio tables can set up in the gardens for impromptu al fresco meals. Our formal dining room connected to our bar the perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks and a seamless transition for special dinners. Candlelight and good company. What can be better? We pack picnic breakfasts, packed lunches for full day game drives and special sundowners for early evening sunsets at local conservancies upon request. Our guides can set up tables and chairs upon request for dining while game viewing where safe and permitted.

Kamungi Conservancy

Kamungi Conservancy works closely with the KWS through Tsavo Trust to secure and monitor wildlife and assist in law enforcement through trained Kamungi Conservancy scouts. The Conservancy also works to reduce Human Wildlife Conflict, educate the community, and to secure and diversify livelihoods. Tsavo Trust also plans to facilitate an increase ecotourism in this area, reduce poverty through employment, education, healthcare, water projects, and agricultural best practice. The nearest town being Mtito Andei about 20 minutes away from the Banda, offering a great location for guests traveling between Nairobi and Mombasa, secluded and abundant in wildlife including elephants, zebra, lesser kudu and much more.

Visit the Conservancy permaculture site, honey processing room, and meet with the Conservancy Manager to learn more about the conservancy and its purpose. This will be charged at a small cost.

Game Drive in Tsavo East National Park Triangle Area

Kamungi Banda offers a luxurious and once in a lifetime opportunity for travelers seeking to immerse themselves in a hidden and untouched corner of Tsavo National Park, at Kamungi Banda Enjoy wildlife sightings in our specialized 4x4 land cruisers with pop up roof ideal for game drives, Guests must purchase their KWS park tickets online and present them to the manager before heading out. Guests have the opportunity to encounter a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, wild dogs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, lesser kudu, impalas, and a wide variety of bird species, among many others.

Community Project Tours

Visit various community projects implemented by Tsavo Trust in the Kamungi Conservancy, including human-wildlife conflict mitigation, education, water, and climate-smart initiatives. This will be charged at a small cost.

Tsavo National Park

Situated in Kenya’s south-west, Tsavo is an enormous wilderness area that has been divided into Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park. Combined, Tsavo is Kenya’s biggest park and, at 22,000 km² (13,671 miles), one of the world’s largest game sanctuaries. It is particularly well known for its large herds of elephants and captivating landscapes. Tsavo is one of the less populated game areas in Kenya and is perfect for those who want to enjoy a pristine wildlife experience. A highlight of Tsavo National Park is the spectacular Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear water flows through volcanic rock.
